A little care during assembly and cleaning will help keep your Case Your Space display looking its best.
Because our range includes freestanding cases, wall mounted displays, printed backdrops and bespoke products, the exact assembly method can vary. Always follow any product-specific instructions supplied with your order.
Before you begin
- Unpack the product on a clean, soft and level surface.
- Check that all panels, components and any supplied hardware are present before assembly.
- Keep small fixings away from children and pets.
- Do not force acrylic panels, tabs, joints or fasteners into position.
- If a panel arrives with protective film, leave it in place until the stage at which the panel needs to be fitted or the instructions tell you to remove it.
Assembling an acrylic display
Work slowly and support each panel rather than allowing it to flex under its own weight. Align panels carefully before applying pressure. Where screws or other fasteners are supplied, tighten them only enough to hold the parts securely; overtightening can place unnecessary stress on acrylic.
If something does not line up as expected, stop rather than forcing the part. Take a photograph and contact us so we can help identify the issue.
Positioning a freestanding case
Place the finished case on a stable, flat surface that can comfortably support the display and the collectible inside it. Avoid positioning it where it can be easily knocked, where an overhanging edge could be struck, or immediately beside a strong heat source.
Wall-mounted displays
Wall-mounted products must be fixed securely to a suitable wall. The correct fixing depends on the wall construction, the display itself and the weight of the items being displayed.
- Check the product page and supplied instructions for any hardware included with the display.
- Use wall plugs, anchors or other fixings suitable for the actual wall type and expected load.
- Check for hidden electrical cables, pipes and other services before drilling.
- Make sure the display is level and securely fixed before adding collectibles.
- Do not overload a wall mounted display beyond its intended use.
If you are uncertain about the wall construction or appropriate fixing method, use a competent installer rather than guessing.
Cleaning clear acrylic
Dust with a clean, soft microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or light marks, use lukewarm water with a small amount of mild soap, then wipe gently and dry with a clean soft cloth.
Avoid abrasive cloths, kitchen scourers, paper products that may scratch, solvent cleaners, acetone, strong alcohol-based cleaners and aggressive household glass cleaners. These can damage, haze or mark acrylic surfaces.
Caring for UV-printed and personalised panels
Printed surfaces should be treated gently. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth and avoid rubbing aggressively across the printed area. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners on printed graphics.
Moving your display
Remove valuable or heavy collectibles before moving a display case. Lift the case from its base or structural support rather than carrying it by a loose lid, front panel or decorative section.
Protective film
Where protective film is applied to acrylic, it can sometimes make a new panel look cloudy, scratched or a different colour before removal. Check both sides of the panel before deciding that the acrylic itself is marked. Remove film carefully from an edge without using a sharp metal blade against the visible surface.
